Issues I Help With
Even when life looks fine on the outside, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck inside. Many of my clients describe feeling like they’re constantly holding it all together but struggling privately with stress, self-doubt, or old patterns that are hard to break.
Here are some of the most common issues I help with:
Anxiety & Overwhelm
Anxiety may show up as racing thoughts, constant worry, perfectionism, or people-pleasing. Overwhelm often comes when too many demands or parts of you are activated at once, leaving you paralyzed or exhausted. Stress can also cause physical symptoms like headaches, tension, or fatigue. In our work, we focus on slowing down and checking in with what’s happening inside. Through IFS and EMDR, this process helps you build more internal safety and compassion so you can respond to stress with greater clarity and steadiness rather than staying in survival mode.
Depression & Low Mood
Depression is not all of who you are. It often reflects different parts of you carrying heavy emotions or trying to protect you by shutting down. You may feel hopeless, disconnected, or unable to find motivation even when you are outwardly managing life. Therapy isn’t about pushing symptoms away but engaging in the process of understanding these parts with compassion. This allows space for more calm, confidence, and connection, which gradually shifts how you move through your daily life and relationships.
Trauma, Attachment Wounds & Grief
Childhood experiences or later life events can leave lasting imprints on how you feel, react, and connect with others. Many of my clients also notice grief for what they didn’t receive as children, or grief for the years spent in survival mode. These experiences can shape protective parts that work hard but leave you feeling burdened or disconnected. Using IFS and EMDR, we gently explore these inner responses. The process emphasizes compassion and internal safety, creating space for healing old wounds and showing up in your life with more clarity, courage, and self-trust.
Adult ADHD (Often Diagnosed Later in Life)
Discovering ADHD as an adult often brings relief and grief at the same time. Many clients feel a deep sense of loss for the life they could have had if they had understood their brain earlier, along with frustration about how ADHD has affected relationships, work, or self-esteem. In therapy, we focus on building awareness of your unique inner responses and helping protective parts relax so you can show up as your authentic self. Through IFS and EMDR, this process fosters more compassion, calmness, and internal balance, so you can approach life with greater confidence and purpose.
Relationship Stress & People-Pleasing
Do you often feel unseen, unheard, or undervalued in your relationships? Many of my clients describe cycles of self-criticism, people-pleasing, or silencing their needs to avoid conflict. In therapy, the work is not about forcing new behaviors but engaging in the process of noticing and caring for the parts of you that drive these patterns. As you create more compassion and clarity inside, you naturally gain the confidence to express yourself differently in relationships and build healthier connections.
Unhealthy Coping Behaviors
Sometimes parts of us cope through food, substances, overworking, or overthinking. While these behaviors may offer short-term relief, they often leave you feeling stuck or ashamed. Our work involves engaging with the protective parts driving these behaviors and healing the parts of you they are trying to soothe or numb through IFS and EMDR. The process is about creating safety and understanding inside, which reduces the intensity of urges and opens up space for more balanced, sustainable choices.
