At my core, I’ve always been someone who cares deeply for others, and what matters most to me is helping people feel safe, cared for, and truly seen. That’s why I became a therapist, and it’s why I continue to be passionate about this work nearly two decades later.
I know how isolating it can feel to struggle beneath the surface while presenting as capable to the outside world. That lived experience, combined with my professional training, has shaped the way I show up in therapy: with compassion, curiosity, and a genuine belief that healing is possible for everyone.
Why I Do This Work
I’m So Glad You’re Here
“When I started to work with IFS, I was buoyed by the idea of returning to our birthright of wholeness through offering attention and care to each “part” of myself as it adorably, horrifyingly, ceaselessly, and sometimes painfully presented itself.”-Alanis Morissette
Meet Erin
I have many roles that make up who I am. I’m a therapist, mother, partner, daughter, wife, runner, and traveler. But what I’d like you to know most is that I’m also on this same journey of navigating life, just like many of my clients.
My own work with Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy gave me a way to understand myself more fully and to meet my struggles with compassion instead of judgment. That experience continues to ground me and shape how I show up as a therapist with curiosity, compassion, and a belief that every part of us has value.
Professionally, I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2008. I am Level 1 trained in IFS and also trained in EMDR. For nearly two decades, I’ve specialized in helping adults work through trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship challenges, moving beyond coping into deeper healing and lasting change.
Outside of my therapy role, I carry the same values into everyday life, whether it’s through my relationships, parenting, or making space for balance and connection.
